II OIDP DISTINCTION "BEST PRACTICE IN CITIZEN PARTICIPATION" 2007

JURY

The purpose of the concession of the annually awarded OIDP “Best Practices in Citizens Participation” Distinction, to be chosen by Jury, is to encourage the start up of innovative experiences at a local level and the spreading of those practices that favour the participation and involvement of citizens in the process of drafting and implementing public policies.

Our starting point is the idea that participative processes must, of necessity, lead to the achievement of higher levels of equality and the strengthening of citizens, to a greater legitimisation of and trust in public powers and to the increased efficiency of public management.

The Jury, entrusted with awarding this 2nd edition of the Distinction, is made up of 18 members, representing Coordinating Committee entities, network collaborators and the Presidency and Technical Secretariat of the OIDP, which this year are held respectively by the cities of Nanterre and Barcelona. Their mission is, from among all of the experiences entered, to propose those that they believe most deserve the distinction, based on the criteria of eligibility duly established in the bases of the call for entries.
