The International Observatory on Participatory Democracy (IOPD) invites local and regional governments that are members of the IOPD to submit their proposal for the XII edition of the Award “Best Practice in Citizen Participation”. This distinction is an award given annually by the observatory to recognize innovative experiences and public policies on citizen participation.
In this edition the candidacies will be evaluated by a jury of experts, but only after an initial participatory step where all the IOPD members can comment and vote via an online platform. The purpose of this first stage is, on the one hand, to give visibility to all of the proposals a and, on the other, to find out the opinions of our members with regard to the different practices submitted. The winner of the award will be disclosed during the IOPD Conference 2018 and a presentation of the finalist proposals will also take place during the event.
