The IOPD participates this week at the National Encounters of Participation in France

The National Encounters for Participation will be held in Lille on the 6th, 7th and 8th of March 2018

The meetings are co-organized by different institutions such as Décider Ensemble, the National Commission of the Public Debate (CNDP), the European Metropolis of Lille or the Ministry of the Ecological and Solidarity Transition of France among others. The International Observatory of Participatory Democracy (IOPD) collaborates as a partner at this Conference.


This year, the theme of the meetings will be "democratic innovation in the service of the territories", an opportunity to reflect on dialogue, citizen participation and stakeholder dialogue from several angles.
 

The IOPD is organizing a roundtable on Thursday, March 8 at 2pm, entitled "Looking Ahead: What Culture of Participation are in Other Countries?Adrià Duarte, coordinator of the IOPD Technical Secretariat, will lead this roundtable, which will include as speakers: Giovanni Allegretti, researcher at the Coimbra Social Studies Centers (CES) in Portugal and Director of the Independent Authority for the Participation of Tuscany (Italy). ), Nelson Dias President of the In Loco Association of Portugal and World Bank Consultant for Participatory Budgets, Dominque Ollivier President of the Office of Public Consultation of Montreal (OCPM) and Michael Donalson responsible for Coordination and Strategic Planning of the City of Gavà (Spain).
