The fifth edition of the Annual Retreat & Campus took place in Barcelona, the home of the organization's World Secretariat, from 11 to 15 February 2019.
The UCLG Retreat is the occasion to harness the power of the local government's global network and continue the work based on the collaboration and achievements of the last few years. The 2019 Retreat was focus on joint programming and the co-creation of the organization's agenda towards the UCLG World Congress in Durban next November. Special emphasis was placed on building synergies through the Waves of Action and shaping the Local4Action Hub.
Several members of the IOPD have participated in the Retreat, and Adrià Duarte participated on behalf of the Technical Secretariat.
Adrià Duarte, from the Technical Secretariat team participated in the workshop on "Strengthening local democracy" on Tuesday 12, as well as in other sessions to strengthen the role of the IOPD in the UCLG network.
Mariana Flores representative of Mexico City presented the IOPD 2019 conference that will take place in this city in December.
