We are excited to announce the 40 finalists for the 20th OIDP 2026 Best Practice in Citizen Participation Award! These practices showcase innovative local and regional initiatives that strengthen democracy through citizen engagement.

In the coming weeks, the finalists will be available for open voting on the ParticipateOIDP platform. You can explore the practices, ask questions, leave comments, and vote for a minimum of 5 candidates to make your voice count.

The practice with the most votes from the OIDP community will receive at least a special mention, and the results of the open vote will be taken into account by the OIDP Jury when selecting the winning practice.

The winning practice and special mentions will be celebrated at the 25th OIDP Conference, “Hope and Renewal in the Face of a Global Crisis of Democracy: The Future of Participatory Democracy from Local to International Governance”, from 21–23 September 2026 in Kraków, Poland.
