The Technical Secretariat of the IOPD is preparing the work plan for 2021, in accordance with the coordination committee, which met on 12 November. Due to the situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, the new work plan will take up some of the activities and priorities that could not be fully developed during this year.

Highlights:

• Conference and General Assembly: to be held in the third quarter of 2021 in full or partial virtual format, in Cocody, Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
• 15th IOPD Award: nominations during the first quarter; evaluation during the second quarter; results during the third quarter.
• Climate change and gender remain the two main thematic priorities.
• Participation in the GOLD report and local democracy evaluation project (IDEA-UCLG).
• Organisation of virtual meetings in the first half of 2021 in line with the thematic priorities.
